Using known operator-valued Fourier multiplier results on vectorvalued H?lder continuous function spaces, we completely characterize the wellposedness of the degenerate differential equations (Mu)'(t)=Au(t)+f(t) for tR in H?lder continuous function spaces Ca(R;X)<?Pub Caret?> by the boundedness of the M-resolvent of A, where A and M are closed operators on a Banach space X satisfying D(A)?D(M).

The mixed principal eigenvalue of p-Laplacian (equivalently, the optimal constant of weighted Hardy inequality in Lp space) is studied in this paper. Several variational formulas for the eigenvalue are presented. As applications of the formulas, a criterion for the positivity of the eigenvalue is obtained. Furthermore, an approximating procedure and some explicit estimates are presented case by case. An example is included to illustrate the power of the results of the paper.

We give the condition of isomorphisms between tilting graphs and cluster-tilting graphs of hereditary algebras. As a conclusion, it is proved that a graph is a skeleton graph of Stasheff polytope if and only if it is both the tilting graph of a hereditary algebra and also the cluster-tilting graph of another hereditary algebra. At last, when comparing such uniformity, the geometric realizations of simplicial complexes associated with tilting modules and clustertilting objects are discussed respectively.

Tutte conjectured that every 4-edge-connected graph admits a nowhere-zero 3-flow. In this paper, we show that this conjecture is true for Cayley graph on generalized dihedral groups and generalized quaternion groups, which generalizes the result of F. Yang and X. Li [Inform. Process. Lett., 2011, 111: 416–419]. We also generalizes an early result of M. Nánásiová and M. ?koviera [J. Algebraic Combin., 2009, 30: 103–110].

We discuss stochastic functional partial differential equations and neutral partial differential equations of retarded type driven by fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H>1/2. Using the Girsanov transformation argument, we establish the quadratic transportation inequalities for the law of the mild solution of those equations driven by fractional Brownian motion under the L2 metric and the uniform metric.

Let A and B be Artin R-algebras of finite Cohen-Macaulay type. Then we prove that, if A and B are standard derived equivalent, then their Cohen-Macaulay Auslander algebras are also derived equivalent. And we show that Gorenstein projective conjecture is an invariant under standard derived equivalence between Artin R-algebras.

We study the complementary design problem, which is to express the uniformity pattern of a q-level design in terms of that of its complementary design. Here, a pair of complementary designs form a design in which all the Hamming distances of any two distinct runs are the same, and the uniformity pattern proposed by H. Qin, Z. Wang, and K. Chatterjee [J. Statist. Plann. Inference, 2012, 142: 1170–1177] comes from discrete discrepancy for q-level designs. Based on relationships of the uniformity pattern between a pair of complementary designs, we propose a minimum projection uniformity rule to assess and compare q-level factorials.

We study a class of non-densely defined impulsive neutral stochastic functional differential equations driven by an independent cylindrical fractional Brownian motion (fBm) with Hurst parameter H∈ (1/2, 1) in the Hilbert space. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the integral solution for this kind of equations with the coefficients satisfying some non-Lipschitz conditions. The results are obtained by using the method of successive approximation.

We study the Bredon-Illman cohomology with local coefficients for a G-space X in the case of G being a totally disconnected, locally compact group. We prove that any short exact sequence of equivariant local coefficients systems on X gives a long exact sequence of the associated Bredon-Illman cohomology groups with local coefficients.

We consider the discrete risk model with exponential claim sizes. We derive the finite explicit elementary expression for the joint density function of three characteristics: the time of ruin, the surplus immediately before ruin, and the deficit at ruin. By using the explicit joint density function, we give a concise expression for the Gerber-Shiu function with no dividends. Finally, we obtain an integral equation for the Gerber-Shiu function under the barrier dividend strategy. The solution can be expressed as a combination of the Gerber-Shiu function without dividends and the solution of the corresponding homogeneous integral equation. This latter function is given clearly by means of the Gerber-Shiu function without dividends.

The homotopy connectedness theorem for invariant immersions in Sasakian manifolds with nonnegative transversal q-bisectional curvature is proved. Some Barth-Lefschetz type theorems for minimal submanifolds and (k, ?)-saddle submanifolds in Sasakian manifolds with positive transversal q-Ricci curvature are proved by using the weak (?-)asymptotic index. As a corollary, the Frankel type theorem is proved.

We introduce a new Euler-type scheme and its iterative algorithm for solving weakly coupled forward-backward stochastic differential equations (FBSDEs). Although the schemes share some common features with the ones proposed by C. Bender and J. Zhang [Ann. Appl. Probab., 2008, 18: 143–177], less computational work is needed for our method. For both our schemes and the ones proposed by Bender and Zhang, we rigorously obtain first-order error estimates, which improve the half-order error estimates of Bender and Zhang. Moreover, numerical tests are given to demonstrate the first-order accuracy of the schemes.

    The bondage number b(G) of a graph G is the cardinality of a minimum set of edges whose removal from G results in a graph with a domination number greater than that of G. In this paper, we obtain the exact value of the bondage number of the strong product of two paths. That is, for any two positive integers m≥2 and n≥2, b(Pm?Pn) = 7 - r(m) - r(n) if (r(m), r(n)) = (1, 1) or (3, 3), 6 - r(m) - r(n) otherwise, where r(t) is a function of positive integer t, defined as r(t) = 1 if t ≡ 1 (mod 3), r(t) = 2 if t ≡ 2 (mod 3), and r(t) = 3 if t ≡ 0 (mod 3).

Let X be the vertex set of KnA k-cycle packing of Kn is a triple (X,C,L), where C is a collection of edge disjoint k-cycles of Kn and L is the collection of edges of Kn not belonging to any of the k-cycles in C. A k-cycle packing (X,C,L) is called resolvable if C can be partitioned into almost parallel classes. A resolvable maximum k-cycle packing of Kn, denoted by k-RMCP(n), is a resolvable k-cycle packing of Kn, (X,C,L), in which the number of almost parallel classes is as large as possible. Let D(n, k) denote the number of almost parallel classes in a k-RMCP(n). D(n, k) for k = 3, 4 has been decided. When nk (mod 2k) and k ≡ 1 (mod 2) or n ≡ 1 (mod 2k) and k ∈{6, 8, 10, 14}∪{m: 5≤m≤49, m ≡ 1 (mod 2)}, D(n, k) also has been decided with few possible exceptions. In this paper, we shall decide D(n, 5) for all values of n≥5.
