Special issue on “Non-point source pollution and Agricultural Green Development” in Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering (FASE, Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Dr. Fusuo Zhang, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering).

Brief introduction on the special issue:

Water quality issues pose increasing risks to human health, water security, and ecosystem functioning worldwide. Among all the sources of water quality degradation, one of the most important sources is the non-point source pollution. Non-point source pollution is closely related to agricultural production and development, such as crop production, livestock breeding, sewage, and so on. Erhai Basin is one of the most important nine lakes in Yunnan Province, China. Currently, Prof. Fusuo Zhang is organizing many experts and set an inspiring action in Erhai Basin to explore the development model of non-point source pollution control and Agricultural Green Development. Therefore, the objectives of this special issue are to summarize the latest progress on:

1.Analysis of agricultural non-point source pollution in Erhai Basin and/or other watersheds;

2.Occurrence and pollution characteristics of non-point source pollution;

3.Non-point source pollution control technology, treatments, and effectiveness;

4.Policy-driven prevention and control of non-point source pollution;

5.Agricultural Green Development in Erhai basin and/or other watersheds.
