The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) (http://www.aimbe.org)is a famous non-profit academic organization in the field of international medical and biological engineering. It is an organization of leaders with the most innovative and unique features in medical and biological engineering, consisting of academic, industrial, professional society councils and elected fellows. And it has had the important impact on biomedical instruments, medical apparatus and related public health policy formulation.

AIBME not only pushed the initial establishments of National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), it is also a founding member of the expert network of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in USA.
