Congratulations to Prof. Mark van Loosdrecht, Associate Editor-in-Chief of FESE, won the 2022 Novozymes Prize!

Recently, Prof. Mark van Loosdrecht (Department of Biochemical Engineering, Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands) won the 2022 Novozymes Prize  for his pioneering work in copying and reusing nature’s mechanisms in wastewater treatment and resource recovery – transforming sludge into valuable resources.

For the last two decades, Mark van Loosdrecht and his team have tried to apply the bacteria and their interactions to recovering the valuable nutrients in wastewater, which is helpful for healthier natural water ecosystems.

Prof. Mark van Loosdrecht is now the Associate Editor-in-Chief of Frontiers of Environmental Science and Engineering (FESE). Congratulations!
