Abstract

The slow-moving hemoglobin variant Hb Ottawa or α2 15(A13) Gly→Argβ2 was found in a heterozygote living in Hubei Province, People’s Republic of China. Structural characterization made use of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and sequence analysis with the ultra micro-DABITC/PITC double coupling method.
