Dr. Jesse Zhu is a Distinguished University Professor and Canada Research Chair at Western University in Canada. He is also a Fellow of Royal Society of Canada, Canadian Academy of Engineering, and Engineering Institute of Canada. With a B.Eng. from Tsinghua University (1982) and a Ph.D. from The University of British Columbia (1988), and after working as a Research Scientist for Shell in Europe, he started teaching at Western University in 1993, where he attained full professorship and established the Particle Technology Research Centre in 1999. As a world leading academic in particle technology, Dr. Zhu has 530 referred journal publications, 60 plus original patents, and over 230 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows supervised. In addition to fundamental research, he is particularly active in technology development and transfer, with some commercialized or being commercialized. Dr. Zhu has received many awards including the R.S.Jane Memorial Award (the highest from Canadian Society of Chemical Engineering), the Elsevier Lifetime Achievement Award (the highest from the Particle Technology Forum, American Institute of Chemical Engineers), the Professional Engineers Engineering Medal, and the Hellmuth Prize for Achievement in Research (the highest from Western University)

Dr. Junwu Wang is a Professor and Deputy Director of State Key Laboratory of Multiphase Complex Systems, Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IPE, CAS). Dr. Wang obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, and Ph.D., all in Chemical Engineering, from Zhejiang University of Technology (2000), Tianjin University (2003) and IPE, CAS (2008), respectively. From February 2008 to July 2010, he was a postdoctoral fellow working at the University of Twente, The Netherlands. He was a recipient of Excellent Young Scientist Fund of National Natural Science Foundation of China (2014), and was awarded 2019 Most Cited Chinese Researchers (Elsevier). He serves on the International Advisory Board of International Journal of Multiphase Flow, the Editorial Board of CIESC Journal and International Journal of Chemical Engineering, and as a Guest Editor of Engineering, Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering, and Chemical Engineering & Processing: Process Intensification. He has authored more than 90 journal publications. His research interests are in the area of fluidization technology, multiphase flow, computational fluid dynamics and multiscale simulation
