Journal policies

1. Peer Review Process: Engineering Artificial Intelligence is committed to maintaining the highest standards of peer review. All submissions are initially assessed by the Editor-in-Chief for suitability and adherence to the journal's scope. Manuscripts deemed suitable are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers for a single anonymized peer-review process. The criteria for review include technical quality, originality, significance to the field, and clarity of presentation. The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection rests with the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers' recommendations.

2. Publication Ethics: The Journal adheres to rigorous ethical guidelines for publication and research. Authors must ensure that their work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Appropriate citation or quotation is required when using the work and/or words of others.

· Plagiarism: All submissions will be screened for plagiarism. Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, will result in immediate rejection.

· Authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study.

· Acknowledgement: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.

3. Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects

· Hazards: If the work involves chemicals, procedures, or equipment that have any unusual hazards inherent in their use, or if it involves the use of animal or human subjects, a statement of compliance must be provided.

· Use of Patient Images or Case Details: Research involving patients or volunteers requires ethical committee approval and informed consent, which should be documented in the paper.

4. Conflict of Interest All authors are required to disclose any financial or personal relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence (bias) their work. If there are no interests to declare, authors should state this explicitly.

5. Copyright and Licensing Upon acceptance of an article, authors will be asked to complete a ‘Journal Publishing Agreement’. The Journal supports the wide dissemination of research findings while ensuring the protection of intellectual property rights.

6. Retraction & Withdrawal Manuscripts may be withdrawn before online publication at the written request of all authors and with the approval of the Editor-in-Chief. After publication, articles may be retracted in accordance with COPE guidelines when the Editor can no longer trust the reported results because of major errors, research misconduct, ethical concerns, or compromised peer review. The Editor-in-Chief holds final authority. A retraction notice will be published and linked to the original article, which remains online with retraction marking. Retraction records are permanently preserved. The journal may issue an Expression of Concern or Correction where appropriate.

7. Publication Fee Policy To promote the broad dissemination of knowledge and reduce barriers to publication, Engineering Artificial Intelligence charges no fees for article submission, processing, or publication (Article Processing Charges, APC) in 5 years.
