1. Submission of Papers All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's online submission system. The Journal does not accept email submissions.
· Originality: Submission of a manuscript implies that the work described has not been published before, is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and its publication has been approved by all co-authors.
· Language: The text must be in good English (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of these). Authors for whom English is not their native language are encouraged to have their paper checked by a native English speaker or a professional editing service before submission.
2. Manuscript Categories
· Research Article: Original research contributions at the intersection of artificial intelligence and engineering. These articles should present new and original research results, with a complete description of the work. (Typically 6,000–10,000 words).
· Review: Critical and comprehensive reviews of specific topics related to the application of artificial intelligence in engineering. Reviews should provide an in-depth analysis, critical assessment, and future outlook of the field, rather than merely summarizing existing literature. (Suggested length: 8,000+ words).
· Perspective: Well-argued and forward-looking perspectives addressing major strategic issues in engineering and technology.
· Communication: Brief, urgent reports of significant novel results at the intersection of artificial intelligence and engineering. (Max 4,000 words).
· Editorial: To convey an opinion, or overview of an issue, by the Editor or someone invited by the editor (no limitation).
3. Single Anonymized Peer Review Requirements This journal operates a strict single anonymized review process. Authors must prepare their files to ensure anonymity:
· Manuscript: This file should include the title, abstract, keywords, main text, figures, tables, author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, and funding sources, as per the journal’s formatting guidelines.
4. Manuscript Preparation Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word or LaTeX.
· General Format: Use a normal, plain font (e.g., 10-point Times Roman) for text. Format the text as single-column and double-spaced. Continuous line numbering must be included to facilitate the review process.
· Units: The International System of Units (SI) should be used.
Structure of the Manuscript:
· Title: Concise and informative. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible.
· Abstract: A concise and factual abstract of 150-250 words. It should briefly state the purpose of the research, the principal results, and major conclusions. The abstract must be able to stand alone.
· Keywords: Provide 4-6 keywords for indexing purposes. Avoid general and plural terms and multiple concepts (avoid, for example, "and", "of").
· Introduction: State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.
· Material and Methods: Provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced. For AI/Algorithm papers, clearly describe the dataset (source/size), preprocessing steps, model architecture, and training hyperparameters.
· Results: Results should be clear and concise.
· Discussion: This should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. A combined "Results and Discussion" section is often appropriate.
· Conclusions: The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short Conclusions section, which may stand alone or form a subsection of a Discussion or Results and Discussion section.
· Declarations: (To be included in the Title Page file during review)

5. Illustrations and Tables
· Figures:
o Supply figures in high resolution: minimum 300 dpi for color/grayscale images and 600 dpi for line art/bitmaps.
o Acceptable formats: TIFF, JPG, EPS, PDF.
o Figures should be numbered consecutively (Fig. 1, Fig. 2) and cited in the text.
o Figure captions should be included in the main text file, not in the figure file itself.
· Tables:
o Tables should be submitted as editable text, not as images.
o Number tables consecutively (Table 1, Table 2) in accordance with their appearance in the text.
o Place footnotes to tables below the table body and indicate them with superscript lowercase letters.
6. Mathematical Formulae
· Present simple formulae in line with normal text where possible and use the solidus (/) instead of a horizontal line for small fractional terms, e.g., X/Y.
· Variables should be presented in italics. Powers of e are often more conveniently denoted by exp.
· Number consecutively any equations that have to be displayed separately from the text (if referred to explicitly in the text).
7. Reference Formatting Responsibility for the accuracy of bibliographic citations lies entirely with the authors.
· Citations in text: Indicate references by number(s) in square brackets in line with the text. The actual authors can be referred to, but the reference number(s) must always be given.
o Example: "Deep learning methods [1] have been applied..." or "as demonstrated by Smith [2]..."
· Reference List: Number the references (numbers in square brackets) in the list in the order in which they appear in the text.
o Journal Article: [1] Author A, Author B. Title of article. Journal Name, Year, Volume(Issue): Page range.
o Book: [2] Author A, Author B. Title of Book. Edition. City: Publisher, Year: Page range.
o Conference Paper: [3] Author A. Title of paper. In: Proceedings of the Name of Conference. City: Publisher, Year: Page range.
o Electronic Source/Code: [4] Author A. Title of the website/software. URL (accessed on Date).
8. After Acceptance
· Proofs: One set of page proofs (as PDF files) will be sent by e-mail to the corresponding author. Please use this proof only for checking the typesetting, editing, completeness, and correctness of the text, tables, and figures. Significant changes to the article as accepted for publication will only be considered at this stage with permission from the Editor.
· Copyright: Authors will be asked to complete a ‘Journal Publishing Agreement’.
· Online First: The article will be published online after receipt of the corrected proofs. This is the official first publication citable with the DOI.
