A combination and improvement of Sweet’s method and Baltin’s method for intraocular foreign body localization designed by us is presented and its clinical application described in detail. In addition, we introduce an improvement of bone-free radiography of the eye, in which the bone-free portion radiographed is significantly larger than that obtained by means of Vogt’s method; and as the non-screen film is placed outside of the lateral wall of the orbit instead of being stuck into the orbit, the patient feels no discomfort. A method of measurement and calculation of 2 points in space is recommended to replenish the coordinate chart method to determine correctly whether the foreign body is inside or outside of the eye-ball. All these new methods mentioned in this paper have been proved safe, simple and convenient.
Seven days after seven insecticides had been administered separately to the rats by oral intubation, a study was made of the content of cytochrome P-450 and b5, activity of aminopyrine N-demethylase, ethylmorphine N-demethylase and aniline hydroxylase in their hepatic microsomes, and pentobarbital sleeping time was measured. The results thus obtained showed that DDT, TCVP and mipcin increased the activity of hepatic microsomal enzymes, while chlordimeform and malathion decreased it. However, no effect of cartap and tsumacide on hepatic microsomal enzymes was observed.
Wuchereria bancrofti, which parasitizes in lymphatic system of human body, induces chyluria. Formerly, the pathogenesis of chyluria was explained to be due to obstruction of thoracic duct. This assay, through reviewing of literature and experiences in operation in renal pedicle, has pointed out a new concept of pathogenesis of chyluria— the retroperitoneal lymphangiectasis.
