Investigation and characteristic analysis of “02·6” flood in Huaerping River in Zhouzhi County

In order to investigate the rainstorm flood characteristics of Huaerping River at the northern foot of Qinling Mountains and improve the prevention capability of small and medium-sized rivers in Qinling Mountains, based on the general situation of Huaerping River, the “02·6” flood of Huaerping River was studied using field investigation and survey methods, regional empirical formula method and hydrological analogy method. It is suggested that the 2002-06-29 flood of Huaerping River in Huaerping Village was about a 50-year flood with a peak discharge of 336 m3/s, and the flood characteristics have the characteristics of mountain stream flood, which provides a technical basis for the study of hydrological law and the prevention of mountain flood disaster in the northern foot of Qinling Mountains.
