    Resources are referred to as the radical sources of human life. The real mission of science and technolgy is to explore the properties and the refining laws of the resources so as to be able to create new tools amplifying human abilities and thus improving the life quality of human beings. The properties and refining laws of the resources of both material and energy have been explicated by modern science and technology and variety of men-driven and power-driven tools have been successfully produced, leading to the brilliant industrial civilization. An attempt is made in the paper to study the properties and the refining laws of the information resources and to establish a unified theory of information, knowledge and intelligence, the so-called Cogmatics, laying a solid foundation for creating various of intelligent tools.

    Sediment-related disasters are caused by various factors. A multi-discipline and multi-department cooperation is important to construct the warning engineering system on sediment-related disasters. Most of the sediment-related disasters are induced by rainfall. Based on the regressive relationship between the disaster occurrence and rainfall, a meteorological-statistical potential forecast model for sediment-related disasters is developed as part of a joint project undertaken by China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and Ministry of Land and Resource ( MLR). The forecast has been launched into operation since June 1,2003,when a nationwide sediment-related disasters warning system via public media was set up by CMA and MLR. In this paper the forecast and warning system is reviewed and some valuable suggestions are presented.

    The production of ammonium phosphate by “ammoniated slurry concentrating process”(ASCP) developed by Sichuan University etc. has solved the difficulty that China´s low grade phosphorus ore is not suitable for the imported “phosphoric acid concentrating process”(PACP). 87 plants employing ASCP have been built with a total capacity of 2.79×106 t/a, which is 60% of the total ammonium phosphate production in China. Recently, a technique for ammonium phosphate production combining both ASCP and the imported PACP has been developed and put into operation in Wengfu of Guizhou Province. The new process with independent property right has been adopted in the five updating projects of phosphate fertilizer in China.

    The Three-Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River is situated on the intact rock mass composed of diorite-granite at the southern termination of the Huangling block. The Huangling block as a sub-plate having double-layer structure (crystalline basement and sedimentary cover) in China continent keeps constant and slow uplifting as a whole since its formation in the Indosinian movement. Tectonic deformation within the block is not significant, with exception of a slight southeastward tilting. The block is confined by many active structures, of which the sub-longitudinal Yuan*an and Xiannushan deep fault zones are the main strongly seismogenic zones. The Yuan´an fault zone represents a regional boundary between West Henan, West Hubei and West Hunan mountainous regions as well as the Nanyang, Jianghan and Dongting Lake basins, with a total length of more than 1000 km. Two times M 6.5 earthquakes (the Changde and the Nanyang earthquakes) had occurred in the fault zone in historic time and the distance between the two epicenters is about 500 km. The Xiannushan fault one extends along the Xiangxi River northward and ends at the Qingfeng fault. It runs southward across Yuyangguan Pass and then its trace is unknown. Total length of the fault zone is more than 220 km. The fault zone has tectonic condition for occurrence of M 6 earthquake. The possible seismic risk for the dam may come from these two strong seismogenic zones, thus the seismic intensity influencing the dam was estimated to be 6°〜7° and the horizontal peak acceleration to be 0.1〜0.15 g.

This paper introduces the model of structure and work for a distributed database server system, and discussions are focused on its redundancy relations, model of load balancing based on mobile agent and performance analysis.

    Recent research on software agent is mainly based on rational agent theories that have been presented by Bratman and its core is to build BDI models for agent. But the models can not present the active cognitive processes of agent, and it is hard to richly present the relations between agent problem solving and agent mental states. Because it is not easy to build the explicit corresponding relations between the theory model and the model structure, agent rational models are difficult to realize. This paper introduces a psychologically recognized model-PASS (planning, attention, simultaneous processing and successive processing) into the study about intelligent agent, builds a new agent model named as PASS-BDI, describes the mental states, cognitive processes and whole behaviors with pi-calculus at length and strengthens the active cognitive attributes of agent. Because having built the explicit corresponding relations between this theory model and the model structure, it is easy to program in AOP practice. An application of the model in MAS is presented at last.

    The scattering coefficient and emissivity are both very sensitive to the moisture content of bare soil surface, which is the essence of measuring soil moisture by using microwave technology. The methods and characters of three microwave remote sensing modes for soil moisture retrieval are discussed in this paper. Firstly, scattering coefficient and emissivity for bare soil surface are calculated based on the theoretical backscattering model BSM. Then the paper analyzes the distribution of isomoisture regions of different data sets, and presents that soil moisture information can be retrieved by using ANN with appropriate input data set.

    Based on the principles of optics and radiometry, the imaging mathematical model is established and the factors of the contrast (signal-noise-ratio) of high-temperature target and the scenery are given. By analyzing not only the differences in spectral properties between objects in the scene, but also the CCD spectral response theoretically, a new method of enhancement of contrast is given. By optimizing the initial image capture stage, using liquid crystal light valve to make a simple modification of the imaging system, the goal of high object recognition is achieved. The experimental results agree with the theoretical predicts.

    The thermodynamic calculation and analysis of combustion synthesis reaction of Al - Cr<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> system with AI<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> and Cr<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> diluents were conducted, and the effects of reaction starting temperature T<sub>O</sub>, diluents AI<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> and Cr<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> on the adiabatic combustion temperature T<sub>ad</sub> were also discussed. The near linear relation between T<sub>0</sub> and T<sub>ad</sub> was obtained and its application in directing the composition design was introduced. Furthermore, the correlation between Gibbs free energy AG and reaction temperature T was displayed by above calculation and discussion. It shows the reaction of this system is controlled by diffusion. At last, combined with the analysis on the experiment results, the thermal explosive reaction micro-model was proposed.

    In view of simulation for concrete dam construction process of the Xiangjiaba Hydro Station, the paper systemically analyses the relation and condition among various main factors during concrete dam construction process. An integration plan, with tower belts and cable cranes as the main equipment and the gantry cranes, belt conveyers as the supplementary equipment, has been adopted for Xiangjiaba construction. By using algorithmic procedure of choosing block from separate bin, simulation result for concrete dam construction is made in the form of three-dimension visual simulation. Furthermore, the authors haveresolved key questions of optimizing execution program of work, matching construction machine and equipment and verification of dam construction schedule.

    This paper introduces the systemic structure, work principle and main functions of the management and monitoring system of automatic tridimensional warehouse based on Ethernet communication. The thought of software design for developing this system is also introduced in this paper. High-speed data communication realized through Ethernet is fully used in this system to make the real-time management and monitoring to an automatic tridimensional warehouse possible.

    Using non-ionic and anionic antistatic agents as composite antistatic system, glass fiber as reinforcing agent, the PA66 was prepared. It has good antistatic and mechanical properties. The influences of composition of the composite antistatic system and glass fiber content on the properties of the antistatic reinforced Nylon-66 were introduced.

    The shaped charge warheads are designed only based on one single liner absolutely today. Authors of this paper put forward a new combined model of shaped charge warhead based on the energy viewpoint and discusse mechanisms of formation and penetration of jet and projectile. Then the steel target experiments are systematically made based on the model in order to find the influence of the key configuration parameters on penetration results. The experiment results reveal that the penetration of new model shaped charge warhead can achieve an increment about 50% than the penetration of current EFP under the same crater and charging conditions. A design of new shaped charge warhead is put out against the ERA.
