    Many minerals in nature have the self-purification capacity to hold and stabilize deleterious contaminants into their lattice structures, which can be used for treatment of heavy metals-bearing contaminants. Hydrotalcite Layer Double Hydroxide (LDH), tobemorite Calcium Silicate Hydrate (CSH) and apatite are ubiquitous minerals in nature, having higher geochemical stability and potential for binding and stabilizing heavy metals. Based on the elucidation of crystal structure property and self-purification principles of the three minerals above, this article discussed how to design the self-purification system of heavy metal-bearing contaminants.

    Sulphate rock and carbonate rock both are usually distributed together, but their karst deve -lopments are most studied separately.It is mainly to research the compound karst developmental mechanism between the two soluble rocks,which are involved in the chemical karstification and the biological karst processes.The karst collapsed column is a special karst hazard of the compound karst,and the karst underground water quality is also discussed.

    In this paper, the separation of arsenopyrite from chalcopyrite, pyrite, galena with organic depressants (guergum and sodium humic) was discussed, and the functioning mechanism of those organic depressants discussed. The experimental results of monomineral flotation indicated that both guergum and sodium humic have depressing effect on arsenopyrite in the presence of ethyl xanthate. Guergum and sodium humic showed different depressing ability to pyrite, chalcopyrite and galena, and the higher the pH-vualue in pulp, the stronger the depressing ability. Ultraviolet-Visible Spectrophotometric study showed that the adsorption layer of xanthate on surface of minerals had been desorbed by the two organic depressants, and the selective desorption of the collector layer was found from different minerals. The xanthate cover on minerals surface was set free when dosage of the organic depressants was high enough. For artificially-mixed minerals, the separation of arsenopyrite from other sulphides was successfully realized by controlling dosage of the organic depressants. And sodium humic had been used successfully to decrease arsenic content in sulphide concentrates in a commercial Lead-Zinc concentrator.

    Karst constitutes one of the greatest landscape styles of the world and China is one of the places where its finest expressions can be seen. From the point of view of karst features and evolutional histories, and by comparative analysis on the three sites with worldwide similar karst areas under the eighth criterion of world heritage, the outstanding universal value is uncovered: Shilin stone forest in Yunnan is the most complicated in the evolution history richest in the forms,which represents a unique evolvement mechanism of stone forest development;which possesses not only the most typical karst cones, but also the most complex assemblages of the cone karst. Libo cone karst represents typical factors of cone karst landforms reflects geological evolvement models and processes in the tropical-subtropical continent; Wulong gorge karst shows integrally development and evolution system of the gorge karst, records evolutional forms of different phases of gorge karst, such as karst gorges, underground rivers, natural bridges, collapse dolines, caves and so on, and illustrats on-going evolution process on the neotectonic movement. As a result, south China karst (Phase 1) world heritage sites represent a long-term, multi-phased evolution history in south China since Paleozoic; the landform features of tropical-subtropical typical cone karst, stone forest karst and gorge karst; the development and evolution mechanism and on-going geological process of tropical-subtropical cone karst, stone forest karst and gorge karst landforms; and unique physical geography characters of the largest in the three vast karst areas in the world.

    Based on features of dimension variation propagation in multi-station assembly processes, a new quality evaluation model of assembly processes is established. Firstly, the error source of multi-station assembly system is analyzed, the relationship of dimension variation propagation in multi-station assembly processes is studied and the state equation for variation propagation is constructed too. Then, the feature parameters which influence variation propagation and accumulation in multi-station assembly processes are found to evaluate quality characteristic of the assembly system. Through the derivation of equation on dimension variation propagation, station coefficient matrices which are combined and conversed to determine the max eigenvalue are educed. The max eigenvalue is multiplied by the weight coefficient to establish the quality evaluation model in multi-station assembly processes. Furthermore, assembly variation indexes are proposed to judge of the assembly technology process. Finally, through the practical example, the application of the model and assembly variation indexes are presented.

    China southwest area locates at the edge of Qinghai-Tibet plateau and is close to east side of collision zone between India plate and Eurasian plate where the geologic structure is quite complicated with serious geologic hazard. Combined with the survey and design, construction and operation of such important trunk railway lines as Bao-Cheng railway, Gui-Kun railway, Cheng-Kun railway, Xiang-Yu railway, Nan-Kun railway, Nei-Kun railway and Yu-Huai railway, etc., in complicated southwest mountainous region, the general condition of geologic hazard of southwest railway is summarized and the railway geologic survey and engineering control technique experience for several kinds of main geologic hazard are systematically presented.

    This paper proposes the cooling system type and cooling equipment type which are deep mine with high temperature during the construction, and presents auxiliary cooling measures making up duct temperature rise since compression and heat transfer temperature rise. The cooling system designed against Zhaolou mine’s ground temperature and weather conditions, with its sprinkler room handling an average temperature difference up to 19.5~23.8 ℃,and the average enthalpy difference could reach 48.4~60.7 kJ/kg. At the same time, it gets a series of basic data used for mine construction during the cooling system design and equipment selection according to the measured results; Using the analysis software Matlab, it obtains the change relations between the temperature of sprinkler room and fan export supply air temperature, wind casing temperature rise and fan export supply air temperature, working face temperature and supply air temperature, used for the mine cooling which has the similar conditions.

    In light of characteristic of low quality feldspar ores in Wanzai Jiangxi province, steel ball was taken as grinding medium,and selective grinding could make impurity separate from feldspar effectively. Through the flow of flotation-desliming-high gradient magnetic separation,the feldspar Concentration 1 was obtained with the yield of 70.19%,containing Fe2O3 0.17% and TiO2 0.07%. The feldspar Concentrate 1 could meet the quality requirement of high-grade construction ceramic. And the slime that was deslimed in the flow was also separated and recovered; the feldspar Concentration 2 was obtained with the yield of 13.18%, containing Fe2O3 0.31% and TiO2 0.17%. The feldspar Concentrate 2 can be used for raw material of low-end ceramic. And gangue, with the yield of 16.63%, was thrown away in this flow, the separating efficiency was high. Employing this flow could also bring high economy benefit and low influence of pollution to environment.

    The fearful karst collapses have been produced in succession since 1970s by the exploitation of karst water in the area of Tai'an-Laiwu, Shandong province. The limestone buried by Quaternary System grows into karst caves, and karst collapse brings enormous harm to the local society and economy development. The spatio-temporal distributing characteristics of karst collapse are summed up in detail. The geological condition, artificial function and forming mechanism of karst collapse are discussed. The cause mode of the karst collapse aiming at the existing questions is discussed and the idea for karst collapse studying in the future is given at last.

    Based on blasting demolition of high thin-wall hyperbolic reinforced concrete cool tower, by virtue of engineering practice of blasting the tube concrete structures, the analysis and research were made on the mechanism of cool tower collapse through selecting blasting parameters and selecting gap form, gap size and gap angle. The cool tower was twisted, collapsed directionally and broken well according to the design requirements. The expected results and purposes of blasting were obtained with no back-blow, total blasted pile approximates to 4~5m height, no occurrence of flying stones and no damage to fixed buildings and equipments, the large-sized hyperbolic thin-wall reinforced concrete cool towers are twisted during blasting and it collapses well with good breaking. The test and measurement of blasting vibrating velocity was carried out during blasting and the measuring results are much less than critical values specified by safety regulations for blasting. The study shows that gap form, gap size and gap angle are the key factors to cool tower collapse and will give beneficial references to related theoretical study and field application.

    A direct way to obtain the characteristic information about a nuclear reaction is to detect the rays released from the reaction. To explore the performances of a prompt fission or fusion reaction, sophisticated diagnostic techniques and equipments have been developed and established in China. The diagnostic equipments can measure intense and rapidly changing neutron and gamma rays fluxes in highly mixed neutron-gamma radiation fields. They operate in current mode, and meet a series of special needs in characteristic properties, such as selective radiation sensitivities, a wide dynamic range, a large linearity, a good neutron to gamma ray discrimination, a very fast time response, reliability, etc. Pulse radiation detection has found its various applications in scientific researches, including nuclear reaction mechanism, material analysis, and astronomy study. These diagnostic techniques and their relative detection systems, the design principle, the parameters which are important for current-mode applications are discussesd in th is paper.

    With science and technology development, vibration testing as the most important item in reliability test is becoming more and more important, at the same time, vibrate condition becoming more and more complicated, the phenomenon increases that the output of controller goes beyond controlling range so that destroy the specimen. In this paper, some skills such as how to set the parameters of force controller, where to place the sensor, which material to be chosen and which skills to be used while making jigs where introduced to avoid the just matter. At last, soem examples were given to prove the validity of the method proposed.

    Multidimensional grey relation projection value can be synthesized as one-dimensional projection value by using projection pursuit model. The larger the projection value is, the better the model. Thus, according to the projection value, the best one can be chosen from the model aggregation. Because projection pursuit modeling based on accelerating genetic algorithm can simplify the implementation procedure of the projection pursuit technique and overcome its complex calculation as well as the difficulty in implementing its program, a new method can be obtained for choosing the best grey relation projection model based on the projection pursuit technique.

    Sutong Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 1088 m. 370 high-precision stress monitoring measured date shows that in the process of hoisting the steel box girders, the stress of the main girders is in the fluctuant and complex state and many meteorological factors, such as sunshine radiation, temperature and wind, have important implication on the variable stress of the steel box girders. According to the real-time weather date, the stress date after the process of wavelet denoising from representative measuring points in different weather conditions is picked to establish the stress response brought by meteorological factors with Layered Separation method, thereby basically eliminating the influence of meteorological factors on the stress of main girders, so that accurate and reliable stress date can be got for steel box girders adjusting and cable-tensioned construction control.

    The track irregularity which is the main vibrating resource of the vehicles and one of the main factors to limit the train highest speed, plays a very important part in the safety, stabilization and comfort of the trains. The statistic samples used by this paper are collected by track geometry inspection car from Qin-shen special line for passenger transport. Based on the stationary character test of the samples, FFT method was used to evaluate the spectrum of the statistical sample space, and MATLAB soft was used to get the PSD(power spectral sensity) of track irregularities. Based on statistical average of the samples of the track irregularities, frequency smoothing of the PSD and coupare with PSD of the main-line of Chinese railway were made. The curve to the PSD was fit. Then the track state of Qin+shen special line for passenger transport was evaluated.

    Fine bauxite flotation concentrate precipitated slowly, which significantly limited the capacity of the concentration plant. An effective disposal method was the addition of the flocculants to enhance the sedimentation capability of the concentrate. The sedimentation behaviors of bauxite flotation concentrates were investigated at different pH value and flocculate dosage. The effects of three types of flocculants (cationic, anionic and non-ionic polyacrylamide flocculants) as well as the molecular weight of anionic flocculants on the sedimentation of concentrate were studied. It is shown from the experimental results that at the pH 7.0, best sedimentation capability was reached when anionic polyacrylamide flocculant (molecular weight 14 million) was added; the optimal dosage was 30 g/t.

    In order to get thermal flow field of direct air-cooled system, the hot water was supplied to the direct air-cooled condenser. The PIV experiments were carried out to get thermal flow field of a direct air-cooled system under different conditions in low velocity wind tunnel, at the same time, the recirculation ratio at cooling tower was measured, so the relationship between flow field characteristic and recirculation ratio of cooling tower can be discussed, from the results we can see that: the flow field configuration fore-and-aft cooling tower has great effects on average recirculation ratio under cooling tower. The eddy formed fore-and-aft cooling tower is a key reason that recirculation produces. The eddy intensity relates to velocity magnitude and direction angle, the configuration of eddy lies on the geometry size of cooling tower. So changing the flow field configuration fore-and-aft cooling tower reasonably can decrease recirculation ratio under cooling tower, and heat dispel effect of ACC can also be improved.

    Based on the principle of the integrated strengthening of steel, the strengthening and the softening of HSLC steel have been studied by controlling the precipitation of carbon in steel around A1 temperature. The results show that strength of HSLC steel produced by TSCR can be further increased. By using temper-slow cooling, σs of HSLC steel(ZJ330) produced by TSCR can be decreased from 344 MPa to 225 MPa to meet the requirement of producing basal plate for cold rolling. Problems about ferrite rolling, ultra fine grain steel and a possible new type building materials have been discussed.

    The purpose of this paper was to validate the effects of airfoil thickness ratio on the characteristics of a family of airfoils. Re-search was carried out in different ways. First, tests were conducted in the wind tunnel. And numerical simulation was performed on basis of tests. Results from calculation were consistent with tests, indicating that numerical method could help evaluate characteristics of airfoils. Then the results were confirmed by compared with empirical data. The study also showed that the determinant of lift was not the thickness ratio, but the angle of attack, the relative camber and the camber line. The thickness ratio appeared to have little effect on lift coefficient at zero angle of attack, since the angle of zero lift was largely determined by the airfoil camber. According to the research, numerical simulation can be used to determine the aerodynamic characteristics of airfoils in different environment such as in the dusty or humid air.

    The continuous rolling tension formula is the core of the theory and the application of continuous rolling system. A lot of studies have been made both in China and other countries. In 1960s, the author introduced continuous rolling differential formula, the dynamic tension formula for multi-stands and the stable state tension formula. All these formuls have been discussed in detail.The Japanese derived the tension formula in theory in 1970s and they did experimental demonstrations, among which the experimental results made by Motoho Asakawa is the most important. Herein, the tension formula is demonstrated by employing the data of the experimental results made by Motoho Asakawa and on-the-spot survey data of Baosteel 2050 heating continuous mill.

    In the construction of water conservancy and hydropower project, young concrete lining structure is often affected by blasting load. Young concrete has a lot of micro-fractures with random distribution, which are easier to propagate and connect under blasting load. This paper focuses on the calculation on dynamic stress intensity factors of bond interface crack of concrete-rock according to concrete age. Result shows that different incidence angles of stress wave lead to different crack propagation mechanisms. Under the normal incidence of impact load, the bonding interface crack propagation of the concrete lining is mainly causing by reflection tensile stress, which forms from the free surface. With horizontal incidence of stress wave, the bond interface crack propagation of concrete lining is affected by concrete age. With the increase of concrete age, the elasticity modulus margin between concrete and rock decreases gradually, and the crack propagation form changes from shear failure to tensile damage.

    The drawback of classical matrix converter having low voltage transfer ratio is studied and a topology of a new matrix converter called as a Cuk matrix converter is proposed. The basic configuration of this new topology and its fundamental are firstly introduced, the analytic expression concerning functions relation of voltage transfer ratio to duty cycle is deduced, and the basic design method of double-loop control strategy is expounded. Finally the validity and feasibility of the new topology are tested by simulation.The results show that the output voltage and frequency can be modulated optionally by the new converter, of which the voltage transfer ratio can be greater than 1, or lower than 1, and an ideal sine wave can be directly obtained without filtering. Thus the inherent problem of classical matrix converter having low voltage transfer ratio is effectively solved by this study, which is of certain practical importance.

    The past decade has witnessed a rapid development of the international construction market. This research aims to investigate top Chinese contractors’ developmental tracks and evaluate their strategic selection of international construction markets over the period from 2001 to 2006, based on the modified Boston Consulting Group Matrix (BCG). Results indicate that Asia and Africa, currently “question marks” markets for top Chinese contractors (abbreviated as TCCs), have the most potential to become “stars” markets; other question marks markets such as the Middle East and Europe are found not to be of potential; “dogs” markets such as the U.S., Canada and Latin America should be relinquished progressively unless there is renewed growth opportunity over the next two years. Compared to developmental tracks of top contractors from some advanced countries, TCCs’ investment and development strategy in Africa seems to be sustainable and intensive; TCCs’ exit strategy for the Middle East appears determined and swift, while their strategy in Asia seems to be lacking in persistence. This research sheds important lights and insights into the prevailing process of internationalization of TCCs and provides a strategic direction for their selection of international construction market. What is more, this research is also valuable to other Chinese contractors who are seeking the opportunity to enter the international construction markets.

    A new approach to solve the problem of dynamic data mining is presented. Firstly a new concept of dynamic mining process is proposed. Next the evolutionary immune mechanism in KDD is illustrated, based on a comparison between the dynamic mining process and biological immune process.Additionally how to apply the approach to temporal sequential pattern mining and evaluate the experimental results are described. Finally the work and present proposals for future work are concluded.

    Segmental perforation is widely used for horizontal wells. However, the flow of fluid in porous media is a complex problem. Using the Fourier transform, principle of potential superposition, trigonometric function transform, asymptotic analyses, a pressure solution of a pseudo steady-state flow model in 3D circular-boxed media has been established. Comparing with the productivity of vertical wells, an equivalence radius model can be obtained. Based on the model, a method of evaluating the productivity of segmental perforation horizontal well is presented by means of principle of superposition. It shows that the equivalence radius is different for various positions of horizontal wells; the output of both ends of horizontal wells is greater than the others under the same length of perforation interval; it is more important to obtain high productivity by increasing the length of perforation interval than enlarging the spacing between perforation intervals. The result of this research can be used to ascertain the yield of each perforated interval.

    In this paper, a monitoring and controlling system for the safety in production and environmental parameters of a small and medium-sized coal mine has been developed after analyzing the current domestic coal production and security conditions. The client computer can convert the analog signal about the safety in production and environmental parameters detected from the monitoring terminal into digital signal, and then, send the signal to the coal mine safety monitoring centre. This information can be analyzed, judged, and diagnosed by the monitoring-management-controlling software for helping the manager and technical workers to control the actual underground production and security situations. The system has many advantages including high reliability, better performance of real-time monitoring, faster data communicating and good practicability, and it can effectively prevent the occurrence of safety incidents in coal mines.
