The key to water pollution prevention in the Three Gorges Reservoir Ar ea is to control and abate the production and discharge of pollutants from sources . The basic way to prevent water pollution is to fulfill scientific development view and complete three strategic transformations . In the reservoir bay and reaches that has been polluted ( for example : water bloom) , the pollution treatment should include measures of source control , end treatment and ecological restoration .

    Renewable energy (RE) has been attached high attention around the world due to its carbonfree and indigenous production in a sustainable way. China enjoys plenty of renewable energy resources, particularly the wind, solar, hydro and biomass energy, which could be a sound basis for a largescale exploitation. This report examines the current status of RE technology and industry, analyzes the challenges of promoting RE in China. In order to pave the way for a longterm development of RE, this paper outlines the basic principles and priorities for individual RE technology. In line with these, the paper puts forward the RE targets and further describes the RE road map by 2020, 2030 and extend to 2050, taking consideration of China’s RE resources, industrial basis and energy demand etc. At last, this paper provides some recommendations to ensure the achievements of the RE targets.

    According to the problems of lacking of systematic and regul ar research in the development of GIS , this paper analyzed the social background , technology background and subject background in which GIS was produced and developed and explored changes of GIS architecture and software development model caused by the development of computer communication Web technology . It considered that the idea of Open GIS and Com GIS , which were distributed , was more fit for both data service and functional service under Web( Grid) environment , and put forward that GIS was developing into Open GIS based on Web services and Grid services . It also discussed the basic architecture and characteristics of sharing geographic information and data interaction based on Web services . At last , it proposed that Grid services provided a new opportunity and a new technology way to share geographic information and solve problems together , and underlined that the core of Web services and Grid services was services that both related and differentiated to each other .

    The installed capacity of a large scale wind power plant will be up to a number of hundreds MW, and the wind power is transmitted to load centers through long distance transmission lines with 220 kV, 500 kV, or 750 kV. Therefore, it is necessary not only considering the power transmission line between a wind power plant and the first connection node of the power network, but also the power network among the group of those wind power plants in a wind power base, the integration network from the base to the existed grids, as well as the distribution and consumption of the wind power generation by loads. Meanwhile, the impact of wind power stochastic fluctuation on power systems must be studied. In recent years, wind power prediction technology has been studied by the utilities and wind power plants. As a matter of fact, some European countries have used this prediction technology as a tool in national power dispatch centers and wind power companies.

    Controlled demolition of concrete is one of the important and difficult problems in construction of reconstruction projects and expansion projects of hydropower projects . Based on systematic analysis of technologic requirements of controlled demolition of concrete , advantages , application conditions and implementation key points are summarized . That' s the selection criterion system of construction methods for controlled demolition of concrete . And the system is applied in Danjiangkou Dam heighting project of median- line of South- to- North Water Transfer Project . The final implementation effect is satisfying . The selection criterion system of construction methods for controlled demolition of concrete and representative successful implementation cases in Danjiangkou Dam heighting project will be helpful for similar projects in the future.

    China wind atlas was made by numerical simulation and the wind energy potential in China was calculated. The model system for wind energy resource assessment was set up based on Canadian Wind Energy Simulating Toolkit (WEST) and the simulating method was as follows. First, the weather classes were obtained depend on meteorological data of 30 years. Then, driven by the initial meteorological field produced by each weather class, the mesoscale model ran for the distribution of wind energy resources according each weather class condition one by one. Finally, averaging all the modeling output weighted by the occurrence frequency of each weather class, the annual mean distribution of wind energy resources was worked out. Compared the simulated wind energy potential with other results from several activities and studies for wind energy resource assessment, it is found that the simulated wind energy potential in mainland of China is 3 times that from the second and the third investigations for wind energy resources by CMA, and is similar to the wind energy potential obtained by NREL in Solar and Wind Energy Resource Assessment(SWERA) project. The simulated offshore wind energy potential of China seems smaller than the true value. According to the simulated results of CMA and considering lots of limited factors to wind energy development, the final conclusion can be obtained that the wind energy availability in China is 700~1 200 GW, in which 600~1 000 GW is in mainland and 100~200 GW is on offshore, and wind power will become the important part of energy composition in future.

On the research of radiation effect , it' s beneficial for us to analyze materials and to improve it or to develop new materials ; it' s also helpful for us to choose what kind of beams to destroy it and to design new type of beam weapons . Advanced material is the substantial basis for advanced weapon development and national defense power enhancement . To deploy the application of radiation technology , demands advanced material research to boost the discipline development . We should focus on high- tech materials which are essential to national strategic development as well as to research into the main task related materials .

    Wind energy is a kind of clean renewable energy, which is also relatively mature in technology, with largescale development conditions and prospect for the commercialization. The development of wind energy is a systematic project, involving policy, law, technology, economy, society, environment, education and other aspects. The relationship among all the aspects should be well treated and coordinated.     Energy is a driving force behind the progress of human civilization. Mainly depend on the current human society of nonrenewable fossil energy sources, such as coal and oil, its increasing demand. Gradually reduce the reserves, the contradiction between supply and demand becoming increasingly prominent. With the process of human history has moved forward with the depletion of fossil energy will eventually be unable to sustainable use. The total hydropower resources are limited, but it is renewable, clean energy, its energy is infinite. Therefore, the full use of limited water resources and slow down the depletion of fossil energy process, is to improve and protect the earth’s ecology and environment, one of the most realistic measures.

    Stress distribution in the third subsidence belt is presented , with great amounts of data on hydraulic fracture orientation obtained from monitoring hydraulic fracturing , and the direction of the maximum principle stress is specified . The results indicate that the third subsidence belt extends over 1 500 km from north to south , and the direction of the maximum principle stress ranges from 55° NE to 75° NE , concentrated on 65° NE , showing a stable distribution of the direction of maximum stress . The monitoring data implies that the tectonic stress direction in third subsidence belt is the combined result of South Asia Plate and Philippine Plate .

    At the beginning of 21st century, with the rapid and steady development of China economy, a lot of large scale hydropower projects with large dams from 200 m to 300 m high are being or to be built. China dam constructions are reaching the level of 300 m high arch dam, 250 high CFRD (concrete face rockfill dam) and 200 m high RCC (roller compacted concrete) gravity dam. Due to the safety and the economy, the type selection for high dams has become the key issue during the argumentation for the hydropower projects, and further efforts are still needed in this aspect for high dams. After reviewing the high dam constructions in China and abroad, authors proposed some advices for the selection of dam types, and hope that it can provide some helpful information for the researches and the design of high dams.

    By setting a sinusoidal pulsed flow generator and an air chamber at the head and midst of conduit respectively , and elaborately structuring conditions of water jet system , a strong hydraulic resonance can be induced and pressure amplitude at nozzle can be greatly promoted . The mathematical- physical model of the system is illuminated with characteristics finite difference equations of hydraulic transient and solved by variable time step method . The conditions of desirable resonance are searched by direct search algorithm of Matlab . The sinusoidal pulsed flow generator is composed of a constant discharge pump and a piston cylinder fluctuating sinusoidally in volume . The constant discharge is provided by an electric piston pump driven by cam mechanism , and the sinusoidal volume fluctuation of the cylinder is produced by motion of piston driven by cam or crankshaft mechanism .

    Reservoir regulation process in the Yangtze River basin is mainly divided into two types of flood regulation and initiating benefit regulation. The present reservoir management system and operation mode are mainly for dealing with or coordinating of flood control and benefit initiation as well as benefit distribution among various beneficial functions. From the view point of river ecosystem protection, the current regulation mode has two kinds of problems: firstly, most of the reservoir regulation plans do not consider ecosystem protection at downstream of dams and needs of environment protection in reservoir areas; secondly, integrated regulation or management of water resources is ignored. It is very necessary to improve reservoir regulation mode, bearing problems faced by regulation of the Three Gorges reservoir and issues related to cascade development and regulation in Tuojiang and Minjiang River basins in mind. In accordance with the concept of scientific development, and the philosophy of “ensuring a healthy Yangtze River and promoting the harmony between human and water”, taking flood control, benefit initiation and ecosystem as a whole, this paper put forward the basic consideration to improve reservoir regulation as follows: on the basis of requirements of ecosystem protection at downstream of dams and needs of environment protection in reservoir areas, we should bring the functions of reservoir such as flood control and benefit initiation into full play, control the negative influence to the ecosystem at downstream of dams and the environment in reservoir areas in an endurable scope, and restore the ecosystem and the environment step by step. This paper put forward the relevant regulation process aiming at the idiographic problems such as protection of ecosystem at downstream of dams and environment in reservoir areas, protection of aquatic wildlife species and fish species, regulation of sediment and protection of wetland.

    Through long- time filtering experiment in water treatment plant, indepth filtration mechanism and characteristics of the long fiber efficient filter , which has been patented with national invention, was studied in this paper. The bed structure characteristics of perfect filtering layer was showed in characteristics of the pore structure, filtrate water concentration, deposit in each layer and loss of filtering pressure along the depth of filtering bed. It was found that deposit lapse with depth of filter bed until exhaustion. It presents research direction for development of filter technique.

    The thermal- oxydative ageing properties of ZN-1 damping rubber materials were investigated by using accelerated ageing test , then the relations between different ageing temperatures and ageing time and mechanical properties and damping properties of ZN-1 damping rubber materials were obtained . The results showed that with increasing ageing temperature and time , the tensile strength of ZN-1 damping rubber materials firstly decreases to a certain value and then increases ; the tensile elongation of ZN-1 damping rubber materials decreased . Finally , the ageing mechanisms of ZN-1 damping rubber materials were deduced from some analyses of the relation between macroscopical properties and microstructure

    Biofuels are the current promising alternative to fossil fuels. However, the fluctuating food prices caused by oil price led to critics to biofuels. The paper surveyed biofuels production and grain production and consumption demand, and come to the conclusion that there was a little impact of corn ethanol on international food price, and there was no impact on China’s food prices. China has launched nonfood biofuels development strategy to use marginal lands for growing hard crops, such as sweet sorghum, tuber crops, and switchgrass etc. to produce biofuels without any impact on food security in the future.

    A result was discovered by analyzing the stability of rectan gular sheet compressed by the pressure. When the sheet metal is supported by the elastic pressing forces putting on the upper and lower surfaces of sheet in stamping, the sheet stability can be improved and the wrinkling of the sheet metal formed in forming process can be reduced. Based on the result, a novel stamping die was developed. The die can be reconfigured quickly and can suppress the wrinkling of sheet.

    Positive development of renewable energy, saving and substitution of fossil energy, promotion of the energy structure adjustment are the inevitable strategy choices of China’s sustainable development. This paper discussed the China’s bioenergy resources status, development targets and technology development roadmaps. China has 136140 million hm2 of marginal land, which distribute mainly in western and northern regions. There are 1 billion t of crop residues and forestry waste annually, and 300 million t can be used to produce different kinds of bioenergies. And organic waste and manure can generate 50 billion m3 of biogas. The discussed development target indicated that it can construct a biomass oilfield with the capacity of 100 million t/year and reduce 200 million t of CO2 emission by 2020. The bioenergy technology development roadmap indicated that the bioethanol mainly uses non grain starch and hemicellulose products as raw materials in the nearterm (2006-2010). The biodiesel technology will focus on the advanced production technology, FT diesel, liquefaction of biomass and raw material production technology.

As the fourth type of energy, biomass energy has many advantages: wide distribution, large quantity, being renewable, clean, storable and transportable and so on. By adopting thermochemical and biochemical technologies, biomass energy can be converted to high quality solid, liquid and gaseous energy products, and provide convenient heat and power energy for human being’s production and daily life. This paper presented the status quo of biomass power generation industry in China and also introduced briefly the future development models.

    2 882 samples were taken in Qinghai- Tibet railway cars, and 1 693 samples were taken out randomly, then the factors that may affect the ability of individual' s hypoxia- resistant were analyzed in statistics. This paper has done this work by nonparametric statistics and correlation analysis , and got the conclusion that five factors, which are mountain sickness one have suffered before, sex, smoking frequency, bodily form and age, influence individual' s hypoxia- resistant ability. The conclusion makes a good sense, as it can provide statistics foundation for continuous iatrical research, while giving directive suggestion to reduce passengers' mountain sickness, and providing warranty for the design and amelioration of oxygen supplying system in Qinghai- Tibet railway cars .

    Estimation of activity duration is a basic problem for project scheduling. However, the uncertainty of activity duration originates from both probability and fuzziness in the real world. This paper develops a linear programming method with LR type fuzzy numbers, which aims to estimate activity duration and identify critical path, and applies the λ - cut to indicate the degree of optimism of a decision maker. Finally, an example is given to demonstrate the application and validity of the proposed method.

    To analyze the time- hopping (TH) impulse radio Ultra- Wideband (UWB) transmission performance in the presence of multipath, a model for Bit Error Rate (BER) analysis of UWB systems with coherent demodulation in the presence of inter- symbol interference, intra- symbol multipath interference , and multiple access interference is proposed by studying the statistics of multipath channel models, which is defined by the IEEE 802.15.3a Task Group, and then through calculating the variance of intra- symbol interference, inter- symbol interference and multiuser interference, system BER formulation is obtained and verified in comparison with computer simulations. By analyzing the average multipath interval and comparing BERs with and without intra- symbol interference , the results show that intra- symbol interference should not be neglected. Finally, to satisfy BER requirement, in various channel environments, the maximum transmission data rate is analyzed by both considering and neglecting intra- symbol interference in single user system, and the maximum average transmission data rate is analyzed corresponding to different user numbers in multi- user system .

    China has abundant solar energy resource. Solar thermal collectors, particularly allglass evacuated tubular collectors, have been studied and developed for 30 years, and solar thermal industry has developed rapidly for 15 years. There are various solar thermal systems, with an operation area of around 108 million m2 in 2007. These systems mainly provide domestic hot water, but some other applications are under extensive study and development as well.

    The data dimensionality reduction is the main method that can enhance the outliers mining efficiency based on higher- dimension data set. The research of detection of outliers based on manifold learning is proposed after analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the classical outlier mining algorithm in the paper. Local Linear Embedding algorithm (LLE) is an effective technique for nonlinear dimensionality reduction in manifold learning. Compared with other dimensionality reduction algorithms, the advantage of the local Linear Embedding algorithm is that it only defines unique parameter, i. e. number of nearest neighbours. With the idea of Local Linear Embedding, the algorithm can select optimal parameter and regulate the distance among data set after data dimensionality reduction, so as to improve efficiency of detection of outliers. The algorithm determines weighted values by discretion formula of weighted outliers. Through these weighted values, the experts can identify the outliers easily. Simulation results illustrate that this algorithm is very efficient. Moreover, our method has the advantage of simple parameter estimation and low parameter sensitivity. Our method gives a new way for the solution of detection of outliers.

    One strain of Bacillus SP. from the activated sludge is able to produce a stable and efficient bio- flocculation. The flocculation properties and application of this microbial flocculants in wastewater treatment are studied. The results show that the optimum flocculation can be reached in conditions as follows: above pH 7.0, the dosage of coagulation aid CaCl2 is 5.0 % , the flocculants dosage is 0.2 % , and the centrifugal condition of flocculants broth is 4 000 r/min min and last for 30 min. In the optimum flocculation condition the strain boasts obvious coagulation efficiency in wastewater treatment with produced bio- flocculation.
