Abstract

In offshore petroleum extraction engineering, a compact multi-riser arrangement improves extraction efficiency but exacerbates the collision risks. Addressing this issue involves accurate prediction of multi-riser motion under the superposition of wake shielding effect, for which the relevant theory is not yet fully developed. This paper improves upon the classical cylindrical shielding effect model by taking into account the superposition effect of wake fields among three risers. Furthermore, it proposes a model for the superposition of wake shielding effect, thereby establishing a comprehensive model for the precise motion of three-riser array system. Based on this model, transient solutions are obtained for the system, and the interference and vibration of three-riser array are analyzed from both time and frequency domains. The effects of tension and initial clearance are also studied. This paper is dedicated to investigating the superposition of shielding effect and applying it to interference analysis between risers in three-riser array system, providing a necessary theoretical foundation for subsequent collision prevention control research.
