General Information

The advent of generative AI (GenAI) has transformed the landscape of academic writing and digital education. While mastering the art and science of prompt engineering, English as a second language or English as a foreign language (ESL/EFL) learners and educators can harness the potential of GenAI for content generation, summarization, and data analysis. This special issue explores the role of prompt engineering—a critical aspect of effective AI interaction—in fostering academic writing skills, enhancing learning experiences, and addressing diverse linguistic and cultural challenges in ESL/EFL education.

 

This special issue offers educators actionable strategies for harnessing the potential of GenAI in academic writing and digital education. By designing and implementing effective prompts, they can empower students to engage with complex texts, develop critical thinking abilities, and improve their academic writing skills.

 

Subject Coverage

This special issue invites original contributions that investigate the intersection of prompt engineering, academic writing pedagogy, and ESL/EFL education, focusing on practical applications, case studies, and theoretical advancements. The themes include but are not limited to:

ü Theoretical frameworks for effective prompt design for academic writing pedagogy

ü Improving research paper or thesis drafting with GenAI: Strategies and case studies

ü Ethical considerations and biases in prompt engineering for diverse audiences

ü Using prompt engineering in teaching and assessing academic writing skills

ü Adapting GenAI to address diverse linguistic and cultural contexts in ESL/EFL education

ü Integrating AI-driven feedback systems in ESL/EFL classrooms to enhance student engagement and autonomy for academic writing

 

Submission Instructions

Frontiers of Digital Education is an international academic journal, aiming at reflecting the dynamic trends in digital education policies, academic frontiers, and research hotspots from various countries. The journal explores key issues and challenges in digital education and technological innovation, establishing a distinctive platform for the dissemination and communication of significant achievements in digital education. This journal is dedicated to the contribution of the advancement of digital education.
