With the development of digital education, modern techniques have been applied to nursing education in the past decades. The rapid technological advancement provides new opportunities to support teaching and learning. The literature on e-learning in nursing education has highlighted a variety of student experiences, emphasizing the benefits of flexibility, accessibility, and the potential for self-paced learning.
Therefore, with this special topic—shifting to digital education in nursing, we seek to provide insights into the applications of relevant research informing the rapid development, deployment, and future of nursing teaching and learning. We also seek to include multiple perspectives by inviting authors with various professional experiences and from diverse nationalities to represent a global perspective.
We invite authors to submit original research to this special issue in the following potential topics. The topics will include, but will not be limited to:
● Perceptions of digital technology in nursing education
● Platform utilization and interface challenges in nursing education
● Softwares in nursing education
● Manners in which technologies are used in nursing education
● Intelligent nursing education courses
● Case studies of digital education in nursing
● Other related topics on digital education in nursing

● Manuscript submission open date: October 15th, 2024
● Manuscript submission deadline: January 30th, 2025
● Publication date: Continuous publication (virtual special issue)

Frontiers of Digital Education is an international academic journal, aiming at reflecting the dynamic trends in digital education policies, academic frontiers, and research hotspots from various countries. The journal explores key issues and challenges in digital education and technological innovation, establishing a distinctive platform for the dissemination and communication of significant achievements in digital education. This journal is dedicated to the contribution of the advancement of digital education.
The submission platform Editorial Manager® at https://www.editorialmanager.com/fode/ is now available for receiving submissions to this special issue. Please refer to the submission guidelines at https://www.springer.com/journal/44366/submission-guidelines to prepare your manuscript.
When submitting a manuscript via Editorial Manager®, under the Additional Information tab, “Are you submitting this manuscript to a Thematic Series?”, answer “Yes” and select the Thematic Series “Shifting to Digital Education in Nursing.”
