The human body functions as an integrated network in which the brain, heart, and lungs continuously interact to support movement. This cover illustrates the proposed “brain-cardiopulmonary axis”, a conceptual framework highlighting the dynamic and bidirectional interactions between the nervous and cardiopulmonary circulation systems underlying motor function. The review develops a multilevel framework encompassing neurovascular, neurocardiac, and neurorespiratory coupling, emphasizing how neural, hemodynamic, cardiac, and respiratory dynamics are coordinated to support motor execution and maintain physiological homeostasis. This integrated perspective may deepen our understanding of multisystem interactions underlying movement and provide new opportunities for multimodal functional assessment, early diagnosis, and personalized rehabilitation.
