Professor CHAO, Chief Physician of China-Japan Friendship Hospital, National TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Great Master, vice chairman of China Association of Chinese Medicine, has been focusing on clinical and basic research of respiratory system diseases.

His team proposed the theory of 'treatment from wind' that applied in respiratory system diseases, such as allergic rhinitis, chronic cough and bronchial asthma, developed the Suhuang Zhike Capsule for the treatment of ‘wind cough syndrome’, and made outstanding contribution in developing TCM treatment against epidemic such as SARS and influenza.


Xiaolin TONG, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences; Director of National Medical Center for Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, Institute of Metabolic Diseases, Guang'anmen Hospital; Vice President of China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing, China

Professor TONG has delicated his career to the preservation and innovative development of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He constructed the theoretical framework of dose-response relationship in Chinese Prescriptions, innovated the TCM diagnosis and treatment system of diabetes and made a major contribution to the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. His team has been focusing on clinical and basic research on the treatment of metabolic diseases and epidemics by TCM.



Executive Editors-in-Chief

Yong CUI, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Beijing, China

Dr. Yong Cui is a professor at the Peking Union Medical College, Vice President of China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Director of National Center for Telemedicine and Internet Medicine, Executive Deputy Director of National Medical Center for Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, Director of Dermatology, Director of the Skin Health Institute, and Director of Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases, Capital Medical University.

He has made outstanding achievements in the field of hereditary dermatosis and autoimmune dermatosis, and led the discovery of a large number of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) related genomic variation sites. In addition, his research interest also extends to digital dermatology, including imaging in dermatology, artificial intelligence and teledermatology.


Hongchun ZHANG, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Beijing, China

Professor Zhang is Chief physician, Director of Health&Care department and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) department in China-Japan Friendship Hospital.

Professor Zhang was awarded the title of “Qihuang Scholar” and “National Famous TCM” for his contribution to the preservation and innovative development of TCM. As the leader of the NATCM key Discipline of Lung diseases and director of the NATCM key Laboratory of Infectious Diseases, he has dedicated himself to the TCM diagnosis and treatment system of lung diseases and respiratory infectious diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Influenza and COVID-19. Also, his team has been focusing on clinical and basic researches on the treatment of lung diseases and respiratory infectious diseases.


Jianpeng MA, Multiscale Research Institute for Complex Systems, Fudan University, Shanghai, China

Dr. Ma got 2004 Norman Hackermann Award in Chemistry for his contribution to biophysics and molecular biology. He is a licensed acupuncturist in the USA. He is now an advisor for the Institute of Geriatric Diseases of Fudan University (Hua Dong Hospital), and a distinguished expert of YueYang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine, affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He also servers as a chief expert of a grant by Ministry of Science and Technology on Research on Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Dr. Ma conducts research, using the highly advanced facilities in MRICS, on the interface between traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine. Recent achievements include a significant progress on the understanding of fundamental mechanisms of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Song PING, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Beijing, China

Dr. Song Ping is the Director of International Cooperation Department of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and chief physician in Dermatology of Guang’an Men Hospital. She is also the Vice Chairman of Dermatological Branch in Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Vice Chairman of Dermatological Branch of Integrated Medicine in Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine Information. She is committed to the clinical and scientific research of traditional Chinese medicine on immune skin diseases such as psoriasis and published more than 140 academic papers.


Dexian JIA, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Beijing, China

Professor Jia is former vice-dean of international school of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and executive member of China Association of Chinese Medicine. She is in charge of ‘the excellent English-taught teaching programme of Chinese Materia Medica to foreign students’ which was approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China. She has dedicated her career to TCM terminological English translation, TCM international education and communication, and published Chinese Materia Medica books in English.


Lifeng YUE, Top Young Doctor of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM), Visiting Scholar of Houston Methodist Hospital, Neurology Department, Dongzhimen Hospital, BUCM, Beijing, China

Professor Lifeng Yue specializes in the evaluation of patients with cerebrovascular disease, such as ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke as well as the critical care of patients with other neurological diseases. His primary clinical and research interests focus on the management and prevention of ischemic stroke and mental disorder treated with a special way of acupuncture and herbal medicine in combination with routine treatment. Some of his research is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).


Ping LI, Institute of Clinical Medical Science, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Beijing, China

Professor Li has dedicated her career to the basic and clinical research of nephrology of integrated Chinese and Western medicine. She gained her two Ph.D degrees of both Chinese medicine in China Academy of Chinese Medicine and Western medicine in Niigata University School of Medicine, Japan. She is Chairman for Beijing Key Lab for Immune-Mediated inflammatory diseases and took charge of nearly 30 research grants as a principal investigator. She has published more than 300 papers in academic journals to revealing the action mechanism of Chinese herbal medicine on kidney diseases and evaluating clinical outcome of Chinese herbal formula on kidney diseases, especially on diabetic kidney diseases.
