The results of study the engine oil mixtures with SUPROTEC lubricating composition are pro- vided in paper. It is shown that effect of the lubricant composition on physicochemical properties of the engine oil is negligible. It is suggested that this effect is not related to properties of oil-ultrafineparticles system, which performs a role of carrying agent in the composition.

The method for calculation the theoretical value of efficiency of peristaltic type pump with linear disposition of working tube was developed. To determine the deformation of compressible tube the method of finite differences was used. The resulting system of equations was solved by the method of lower relaxation. Experimental research was also carried out. It is shown that the efficiency val- ues calculated by the developed technique are much larger than those, which are obtained experi-mentally; consequently this method is suitable only for approximate preliminary calculations.

The paper provides results of strength analysis of carbon fiber composite arm for suspension of Formula Student race car. The process of searching for optimal solutions of suspension arms design parameters is provided, specifically the number of layers of reinforcing material and the direction of reinforcement. Optimum design parameters are based on obtained results. As the result of calcula- tion the paper shows diagrams, which illustrate distribution of safety margin on arm taking into ac-count the angle of reinforcement and the thickness of composite.

Paper studies the problem of nonfailure operation of dump trucks hydraulic system that is ex- ploited in the continental climate. To analyze the negative factors affecting the operation of the hy- draulic system a systematic approach has been used, based on the methodology of SADT structural analysis. The result identified that the major negative factor is instability of kinematic viscosity of working fluid over a wide range of ambient temperatures. There were developed the technique of adjusting kinematic viscosity of working fluid and the technique to improve reliability of dumptrucks hydraulic system.

The paper discusses applicability of different types of alternative fuels in Russia. Nowadays there are known and tested many types of alternative fuels, which are produced not from oil. These are spirits, hydrogen, ethanol, methanol, rapeseed oil, biogas, etc. The composition and features of the alternative fuels are shown. Among these fuels we would like to allocate the biogas. Biogas is an alternative source of energy and now it can also be used as a fuel for internal combustion en-gines.
