Abstract

The article describes the features of the application of compression algorithms of information in multimedia learning technologies. There are given the examples of lossy compression algorithms and lossless compression and basic formats of compression of text, graphics and audiovisual information. The analysis of the effectiveness of various algorithms and recommendations for their use in different types of information are presented. The example of Huffman coding is given.
