Pharmacoeconomic evaluation of the efficacy of the local treatment in patients presenting with chronic generalized periodontitis and type 2 diabetes mellitus
Clinical and cost-effectiveness analysis of different therapeutic modalities applied to treat 110 patients presenting with moderately severe chronic generalized periodontitis and concomitant type 2 diabetes mellitus. The data on the relationship between the treatment expenditures and clinical efficacy were used to substantiate the most cost-effective strategies for the management of periodontitis including removal of the pulp in the teeth with estimated grade 2 mobility.
