Abstract

Cases of hypertrophy of the pylorus giving pylorostenosis in infants are not as rare as they are diagnosed here. It is difficult to distinguish pylorostenosis from pylorospasm, because the symptomatology of both diseases is similar: regurgitation, vomiting, visible gastric peristalsis, food stagnation, weight loss or standing, palpable pylorus thickening, poor turgor, constipation and low diuresis.
