Family idiosyncrasy to Salvarsan and its successful passive transmission

H. Huchs and G. Richljun. (Arch. F. D. u. Syph. Bd 154. H. 1) describe a case of familial idiosyncrasy to Salvarsan observed in father, son and daughter. The father developed itchy spotted exanthema after the 3rd infusion of Neo. After the 4th infusion, my son developed a small-spotted rash, accompanied by itching and a slight disturbance of the general condition. After the 3rd infusion of Neo, my daughter developed toxic urticarial exanthema on the trunk and extremities, severely itching. The contents of the bladder, obtained from the girl after the fly was applied, succeeded in causing idiosyncrasy to salvarsan in one luetic, who tolerates Neo well. Idiosyncrasy was not limited to the site of transfer, but was later observed in distant areas of the skin.
