Abstract

Strauss (Berl. Kl. Woch, 1921, No. 16) pointed out the excellent, in some cases even striking effect of urea in edema of renal and cardiovascular origin. Based on this instruction, prof. Yarotsky (Doctor. Gaz., 1924, No. 6) came to the conclusion, whether it would not be advisable to prescribe to patients with edema such food substances that, when processed by their body, would give large amounts of urea.
