Metasiphilis problem

Abstract

Pathological and anatomical studies on the issue of "syphilis-metasiphilis" came to the aid of methods of long-term clinical observation, systematic study of cerebrospinal fluid, statistical method and even experiment. As a result of these painstaking and persistent investigations, the pathogenesis of metasiphilis has begun to emerge more and more recently. In this brief review, we will mainly deal with the views and works of Nonne, Gennerich, Sicard, Schon, Kyrle, Krainsky, Jahne, Spielmeyer and others, as far as they have come to light from the literature available to us.
