The use of carbogen in diseases of the retina and optic nerve
According to Keti and Schmidt (1948), inhalation of pure oxygen leads to a decrease in cerebral circulation by 13%, and inhalation of carbon dioxide increases blood flow by 75%. Similar changes in blood circulation were noted in the central retinal artery system [5].
