Diverticula of the cecum
The caecum diverticulum was first described by Potier (1912). This was followed by a large number of reports on single observations of cecum diverticula and their complications. Anderson collected information in the literature on 91 cases of acute cecal diverticulitis and added 9 of his own observations.
