For 6 days (from 2 / ѴII to 7 / VII 1972), the IX International Congress of Gerontologists was held in Kiev, convened by the Soviet National Organizing Committee, M3 USSR, AMS USSR and M3 Ukrainian SSR. The Congress was attended by 3000 delegates from 43 countries; at 138 sessions (4 plenary, 68 section, 33 symposia and 33 discussion troupes) 672 reports from 25 countries of the world were heard.
