Using a vacuum extractor instead of obstetric forceps

Abstract

Although a little time has passed since the introduction of the vacuum extractor into obstetric practice (Finderle, 1952; Malmström, 1954; K.V. Chachava, 1955; I.P. Demichev and A.I. Petchenko, 1956), nevertheless this operation became widespread and largely replaced obstetric forceps.
