Before talking about atrophic cirrhosis of the liver with a large spleen, we consider it necessary to dwell in some detail on cirrhosis of the liver in general. At the seventh congress of the society of Russian doctors in memory of N.I. Pirogov in 1899 in Kazan, the late prof. pathological anatomy NM Lyubimov made a report on the topic "On the classification of cirrhosis of the liver" on the basis of modern scientific medicine.
