Section 1 Before You Begin
Authors should guarantee that the conditions below are met:
1. Submission to this journal should be agreed by all authors and approved by authors’ institutes. The submitted manuscript should be an original work, without multiple submission, redundant publishing, or infringement of copyright.
2. The content of manuscript should not involve confidential issues. For affiliation concerning secret matters, e.g., police, military or special department, the authors shall provide a “confidential certificate” to the journal.
3. All maps in the manuscripts should comply with policies and regulations of the Regulations on Map Management and the Regulations on Map Review.
4. Authors should learn about the ethical statement and review policy of the journal from this website before submitting
Section 2 Publishing Scope
RGPP is an academic journal publishing theories and methods of geophysics and planetary physics within and outside China. It publishes peer-reviewed full-length research papers, short communications and review works covering all major aspects of geophysics and planetary physics. Columns include:
1. Reviews: summary and comment on representative achievements, status quo, problems to be solved, future research directions and suggestions for future research work.
2. Research Articles: significant scientific research achievements in related research fields of geophysics and planetary physics at home and abroad.
3. Scientific Research Bulletin: brief report of the latest innovative achievements and new discoveries.
4. Technical Reports: the latest achievements in the application of various new technologies to research.
5. Opinion &Debate: including "problem discussion", "academic discussion", "question and answer", "academic suggestion", publishing papers on frontier, leading edge and hot issues, or post-publishing discussions.
6. Highlight Contents: brief comment on important achievements and progress of papers published in Nature/Science/PNAS and their sub-journals.
7. News & Views: report of trends, research progress of key laboratories, review of new books, introduction or tutorial of important methods and technologies, etc.
Section 3 Submission
1. For article format and styles, please refer to Manuscript Template, which can be downloaded at the bottom of this webpage.
2. The journal adopts online submission system, website: http://www.manuscripts.com.cn/dqyxxwllp. For oversea authors, manuscript could be sent to dqyxx@cea-igp.ac.cn or dqyxxlp@126.com if online submitting is not accessible in your country. Besides manuscript, Copyright Transfer Agreement, Authors Contribution Form, Statement of Competing Interests (please find the file on the page of Publishing Ethics) and Confidential Certificate (if applicable) should be provided upon submission.
3. All articles submitted to the journal shall be tested by plagiarism checking system developed by Wanfang Data. Repetition rate for review articles should be less than 25%. Repetition rate for other articles should be less than 15%. Articles which do not meet this requirement shall be rejected.
4. Authors should recommend 3-5 reviewers (please indicate the name, unit, title, research field and e-mail), and could also suggest several experts who shall avoid reviewing the manuscript.
5. If the submitted manuscript does not meet the journal’s requirements, authors shall be required to make revision on it. Authors should keep their own manuscript, which will not be returned to them. Unless otherwise agreed by both parties, authors can re-submit the manuscript to another journal if they do not receive any feedback from the journal within 3 months.
Section 4 Fees
A manuscript handling and processing fee of CNY300 will be charged for each submission. The page charge is CNY300 per printed page, and CNY800 per color page for all accepted manuscripts.
Section 5 Copyright and Archive
1. From the date of acceptance, unless otherwise specified by authors in written, it shall be deemed that authors agree to transfer the copyright of the article to the editorial office of Review of Geophysics and Planetary Physics, including the right of publishing, reproduction, compilation, distribution, broadcasting, performance, translation, adaption, online dissemination, and the right of licensing the above right to a third-party. The remuneration of the manuscript includes copyright transfer fee. Authors should sign the Copyright Transfer Agreement (find the file at the bottom of this page) and provide it to the editorial office upon submission.
2. Review of Geophysics and Planetary Physics is an open access journal. Once published, all articles will be immediately and permanently available for readers to read and download free of charge. Permitted third party reuse of the articles published by the journal is defined by the following user license: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This license allows reusers to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format. The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as the license terms below are followed: reusers must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Reusers may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses the use. Reusers may not use the material for commercial purposes. If reusers remix, transform, or build upon the material, they may not distribute the modified material. The authors have right to spread or make use of the article under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 License. 3. Since 2021 when the journal was renamed to the current title, all articles have been digitally archived and can be searched and downloaded from the journal website. In order to ensure data security, all information has also been backed up in the editorial office. The hard and soft copy of each issue of the journal had been kept in the editorial office for archiving. In addition, other relevant materials are also kept by the editorial office, such as supplementary information and forms provided by the authors.
