Abstract

This study investigated the prevalence of pregnancy-related anxiety among school-age pregnant women and explored influencing factors. From February to June 2023, 250 pregnant women of appropriate age from three tertiary hospitals’ obstetrics outpatient clinics in Urumqi were surveyed using the Chinese version of the Pregnancy-Related Anxiety Scale (Simplified Version) (PrAS-S). The prevalence of pregnancy-related anxiety was 65.6%. Influencing factors included expectation of fetal sex, knowledge of labor and delivery, and confidence in caring for the baby. Expectation of fetal sex was a significant positive predictor, while knowledge of labor and delivery and confidence in caring for the baby were significant negative predictors. The study concluded that pregnancy-related anxiety is common among pregnant women of appropriate age. Targeted interventions should be implemented to address high-risk factors and protect the psychological well-being of pregnant women.
