Journal of Materials Informatics (JMI) (Online ISSN: 2770-372X) is an open-access, international academic journal focusing on the field of materials informatics. It was officially launched in April 2021 by OAE Publishing Inc. The founding Editor-in-Chief is Professor Tong-Yi Zhang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Executive Editor-in-Chief is Professor Xingjun Liu, Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. The Editorial Board includes 12 International academicians.
The journal is indexed in ESCI, CAS, CNKI, ASCI, Dimensions, Lens, and J-Gate, and received its first Impact Factor of 5.6 in June 2025, ranking in JCR Q2 (TOP).
JMI aims to advance and accelerate the pace of materials discovery, design, and deployment by synergistically combining theory, experiment, computation, and artificial intelligence in a tightly integrated and smart manner. It provides a platform for presentation, publication, and exchange of researches related to materials informatics, seeking to break down barriers among materials science and engineering, data science and engineering, and artificial intelligence
