Biosketch:
Dr. Yuming Xu is a neurologist and neuroscientist with long-standing interest in pathogenesis of cerebrovascular, neurogenetic and neurodegenerative diseases for about 40 years. At present, he is the director of the Cerebrovascular Disease Hospital, the Department of Neurology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, NHC Key Laboratory of Prevention and Treatment of Cerebrovascular Diseases, Henan Key Laboratory of Cerebrovascular Diseases, and Henan Medical Key Laboratory of Neurogenetic and Neurodegenerative Diseases. He has presided more than 30 scientific research projects, including National Key Research and Development Program projects and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In cooperation with the Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, he led the clinical trial of “Safety and Efficacy Study of Human ESC-derived Neural Precursor Cells in the Treatment of Parkinson's Disease”. He established a molecular diagnostic platform and tissue sample bank for stroke, neurogenetic and neurodegenerative diseases, building strong ties with patients and community providers and tracking participants over time. Dr.Xu cultivated a competent team consisted of experienced neurologists and neuroscientists to accomplish the clinical and research work.
