Biosketch:

Professor Dick Swaab is best known for his research and discoveries about mechanisms of brain development, sexual differentiation, aging, Alzheimer’s disease, depression, and eating disorders. He has published over 650 papers in SCI journals and 200 chapters in books. He is editor of over 120 books. His H-factor is 112. He mentored 87 PhD students from which 21 are now full professors. He has been decorated with the Knight of the Order of the Netherlands Lion, Lifetime Achievement Award in Alzheimer’s Disease Research in 2002, academy medal of Royal Dutch Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2008, in honor of his great contribution on the promotion of human brain bank and research on brain disease.
