The Editorial Board Meeting of Human Brain was successfully held at Peking Union Medical College Hospital (October 25, 2025). The meeting was chaired by Professor Chao Ma, Editor-in-Chief of Human Brain(Figure 1).
During the meeting, it was officially announced that Human Brain is published by Higher Education Press (HEP) and hosted on the HEP Journals platform. The journal will be published quarterly with an open-access model.
Mr. Huabing Yang, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Higher Education Press, delivered a welcome speech (Figure 2), expressing gratitude to the editorial team for their trust in HEP and reaffirming the publisher’s commitment to supporting the development of high-quality academic journals.
Professor Chao Ma, Editor-in-Chief from Peking Union Medical College (Figure 3), introduced the vision and mission behind the launch of Human Brain, emphasizing its dedication to advancing brain science research.
Professor Yi-Cheng Zhu, also Editor-in-Chief from Peking Union Medical College Hospital (Figure 4), acknowledged the challenges of launching a new journal but expressed confidence in building a reputable international platform for neuroscience research.
Dr. Zi Wang, Senior Editor at Higher Education Press, gave a presentation titled “Standardized Service Process for New Journals” (Figure 5), outlining the progress and workflow of Human Brain during its establishment phase.
Following the presentations, Mr. Huabing Yang presented certificates of appointment to Professors Chao Ma and Yi-Cheng Zhu as Editors-in-Chief (Figure 6).
The Editors-in-Chief then awarded certificates to the Editorial Board members, marking the formal establishment of the Human Brain Editorial Board (Figure 7).

The successful convening of this meeting laid a solid foundation for the development of Human Brain and demonstrated the joint efforts of scholars and publishers to promote the international visibility of Chinese academic journals in neuroscience.
