Aims & scope

Eye & ENT Research is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing fundamental, translational, and clinical research on the sensory system, with a primary focus on ophthalmology and otolaryngology. The journal provides a platform for studies that enhance the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and restoration of vision, hearing, olfaction, taste, and balance, as well as disorders affecting these sensory functions.

The journal welcomes submissions that generate mechanistic insights or improve clinical care within the sensory system. Priority is given to work that is directly relevant to eye diseases, ear and hearing disorders, nasal and olfactory conditions, laryngopharyngeal sensory dysfunction, and other related sensory impairments.

We particularly encourage studies employing advanced methodologies to elucidate disease mechanisms or develop innovative therapeutic strategies. The following areas fall within the journal’s scope:

¡   Core Areas of Interest

¡   Ophthalmology and vision science

¡   Otology, hearing science, and vestibular research

¡   Rhinology and olfactory disorders

¡   Sensory neurobiology and neural circuits underlying sensory function

¡   Mechanisms and pathology of sensory-system diseases

¡   Translational and pre-clinical research targeting sensory dysfunction

¡   Diagnostic innovation for sensory disorders, including imaging and physiological measurement

¡   Clinical trials (Phase I–III) for therapies targeting eye or ENT-related sensory conditions

¡   Reviews that synthesize mechanistic discoveries, diagnostic advances, or therapeutic progress in the sensory system

The journal does not publish research outside the scope of ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and the sensory system.
