Abstract

This article deals with the 20^th anniversary of the publication of the first issue of the Journal “Ecological Genetics”. The authors list the main prerequisites that determined the creation of the Journal with the aim of combining scientific research conducted in different areas of ecological genetics. The modern vision of ecological genetics within the framework of general biology is emphasized.
