Aims & Scope
Traditional medicine includes herbal medicine, acupuncture and other complementary and alternative medicine. Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (AHM) aims to evaluate the effectiveness and security of traditional medicine therapy scientifically by sharing the evidence of experimental and clinical research, and to serve the development of the global health industry.

AHM is an official journal of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and China Association of Chinese Medicine. It is an international, open access, peer-reviewed quarterly journal, strives to publish high-quality papers of interest to an international readership including researchers, clinical practitioners, administrators and others concerned with clinical best practice, research methodology, and education and policy development in complementary and alternative medicine. AHM publishes articles of experimental research, clinical research and application research and reviews, etc. The types of publications considered are editorial, review article, original article, guidelines and standards, commentary, short communications, case report, methodology, letter to the editor, etc.

About Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
With the foundation in 1958, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TUTCM, https://news13.tjutcm.edu.cn/c2015.htm) has been regarding two disciplines of Acupuncture and moxibustion and Chinese Materia Medica as its main research fields. As one of the renowned traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) universities in China, TUTCM was included in the construction plan of Double First-Class initiatives in 2017, with the science of Chinese Materia Medica listed as first class discipline. TUTCM provides more than 30 integrated and systematic platforms for teaching and research, including the National Clinical Research Center for Chinese Medicine Acupuncture and Moxibustion and the State Key Laboratory of Component-based Chinese Medicine. TUTCM has an elite research team in the fields of acupuncture and herbal medicine led by three Academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering with a large group of outstanding talents, which has undertaken numerous important scientific projects such as the National Key R&D Programs of China with landmark results achieved. In addition, TUTCM has hosted many international and national academic conferences including the previous sessions of World Conference on Traditional Chinese Medicine Education, the 14th International Symposium on Acupuncture and Moxibustion, the previous International Forums on Evidence-based Chinese Medicine, etc, which have great influence on relevant fields. Therefore, TUTCM has accumulated rich global resources for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine(AHM), which lays an excellent foundation for the establishment of the journal.

About China Association of Chinese Medicine
As the earliest and largest academic TCM organization in China, China Association of Chinese Medicine (http://www.cacm.org.cn/) was established in 1979, whose job duties include carrying out various forms of academic activities related to Chinese medicine, editing and publishing Chinese medicine academic journals and books, carrying out continuing education, evaluating the scientific and technological achievements in Chinese medicine, and promoting the transformation and application of scientific research results of Chinese medicine, etc. There is a journal management office led by the China Association of Chinese Medicine, which manages more than ten Chinese medicine-related journals. As the co-sponsor of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (AHM), the China Association of Chinese Medicine helps to strengthen the relationship between AHM and relevant international and academic organizations and scholars,which ensures that AHM obtains high-quality international manuscript sources. It also can provide guidance on the establishment and development of journals, which will help enhance the brand building and influence of AHM, and build a good communication platform for the development of AHM.
