Abstract

Arnold-Chiari malformation is a group of the congenital anomalies of the hindbrain, affecting the structural relationship between the cerebellum, brain stem, the upper cervical spinal cord and the bones of the skull base. Headache with Arnold-Chiari malformation is caused by failure of venous outflow and increased intracranial pressure. Authors is noted that the frequency of occurrence of a headache at Arnold-Chiari malformation has a statistically significant tendency to increase depending on the degree of the prolapse tonsils in the foramen magnum (0 to type 1) and floor - preferably in females, with no associated with elevated blood pressure.
