Abstract

Using the method о f luminoldependent chemiluminescence combined with other biochemical methods it was shown that an increase о f FRO processes was noted in peripheral placental parts in cases of premature labor at 28-36 weeks of pregnancy. Intensification of FRO processes is associated with lipid peroxidation. The formation of oxygen active forms in placental tissues occurs both by SOD-dependent and SOD-independent ways, while in cases of premature labor the sheer оf the second mechanism is significantly lower. Content of the myeloperoxidase, the main enzyme of oxy gen-dependent antimicrobic system, decreases in premature labor irrespective of its localization. The results obtained show a reduction оf the defensive function in the fetoplacental system which is one of important pathogenic factors of late pregnancy abortion.
