Abstract

In this experiment on 38 isolated strips of myometrium (under the experimental conditions in vitro) we have demonstrated the possibility to assess the nature of myometrium contractions as a model of labor. We have recorded contractions caused by pre-stretching bands as well as contractions induced by oxytocin. We have identified the changes in the rhythm and amplitude of contractions in the background of opiates and calcium channel blockers, and demonstrated synergistic effect of opiates acts of on the contractile activity of the myometrium strips through calcium channels.
