Abstract

The approaches to the substantiation of physiotherapy for the patients presenting with acute disturbances of cerebral blood circulation (ADCBC) are considered with special reference to the symptomatic treatment for the alleviation of pain syndrome and normalization of cerebral microcirculation, activation of the reparative processes, maintenance of functional activity of the neuromuscular apparatus of the extremities, and prevention of the development of contractures. The major physiotherapeutic procedures to be performed within a period from 3 days to 1.5 months after the onset of ADCBC are described.
