Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate effects of low-frequency magnetotherapy and dynamic photochromotherapy included in the combined rehabilitative program on the severity of clinical symptoms of chronic gastroduodenitis, inflammatory processes in gastric and duodenal mucosa, and disorders of vegetative regulation in 103 adolescent patients. The analysis of the results has demonstrated that inclusion of dynamic photochromotherapy in the combined rehabilitative treatment of patients with chronic gastroduodenitis can be recommended in cases of prevailing activity of the sympathetic component of the vegetative nervous system whereas magnetotherapy may have beneficial effect in patients with initial vagotonia. It is proposed that dynamics of cardiorhythmographic characteristics with special reference to the differential contribution of low- and high-frequency components to the total spectral output should be used as a criterion for the efficiency of rehabilitative treatment of patients with chronic gastroduodenitis.
