Abstract

Authors present results of an open comparative study of mild and moderate acne monotherapy with modern topical preparation containing azelaic acid registered in Russian Federation Skinoren® gel ("Schering", Germany). Study sample included 28 patients with mild and moderate acne. Patients were randomized into two groups A and B (14 probands each) and observed for 12 weeks. Study results confirm antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and very good cosmetic properties of azelaic acid. Monotherapy with Skinoren® as basic topical medication is optimal in patients with mild and moderate acne.
