STEVENS—JOHNSON’S SYNDROME

Abstract

Stevens—Johnson ’s syndrome (SJS) is a severe total systems allergic delayed (immunocomplex) reaction with skin involvement paralleled by mucosal involvement in more than two organs. The disease incidence increased over the recent decades. A patient with SJS is described with 70% skin involvement. Published data (13 publications) on the etiology and pathogenesis of the syndrome are presented.
