Abstract

The purpose of the study is to identify factors that affect the formation of addictive behavior in adolescents. It has been revealed that adolescent male addicts have a feminine type of gender role. Significant differences were found between the girls of the main group and the comparison group on the femininity parameter; adolescent addicts in the repertoire of coping strategies are dominated by unproductive cognitive coping strategies. A high level of development of such mechanisms of psychological defense as denial, compensation, substitution in the main group is revealed. In the group of addictive adolescents, a low level of indicators of social and psychological adaptation on the scales «adaptation», «self-acceptance», «acceptance of others», «emotional comfort”, «internality», and also «escapism» was diagnosed.
