COMPARISON OF STRATEGIES OF ACUTE ENDOGENOUS PSYCHOSES THERAPY

Abstract

There are different therapeutic strategies for the relief of acute endogenous psychoses (AEP), a condition characterized by rapid onset, pronounced affective component, polymorphous symptoms, with the deployment of oneiroid and catatonic symptoms. The aim of the study was to analyze the pharmacotherapy of patients suffering from AEP, to establish the most effective and safe treatment regimens. It was found that the most quick and safe way to relief AEP s benzodiazepine usage. Combination of several drugs, especially antipsychotics, as well as the excess of the recommended dose leads to a prolonged duration AEP and frequent occurrence of side effects.
