Abstract

By means of microdialysis we studied stress induced changes of hippocampal glutamate and GABA profiles in active and passive rats immunized by glutamate-BSA conjugate. Glutamate level after stress exposure at the end of monitored hour period was higher in active immunized rats in comparison to nonimmunized active rats. GABA level during stress exposure significantly increased in active nonimmunized rats. Immunization of activerats by glutamate conjugate was accompanied by an increase of GABA concentration after stress exposure without any changes of GABA during stress exposure. These data demonstrate new conceptions on cerebral neurochemical effects of immunization by glutamate-BSA conjugate.
