Abstract

There are rather meager indications in the literature about the relation of the splanchnic nerves to the urinary bladder. Zeissl recognizes the existence of motor fibers in these nerves, since he was able to cause bladder contractions by stimulating the large abdominal nerves. Which way these fibers reach the bladder is left unclear by the author; he could only make sure that after the two-sided cutting of n. n. hypogastrici and erigentes, that is, after cutting all the motor nerves of the bladder, irritation of the splanchnic nerves ceased to have an effect.
